Borat - Production

The production of the film Borat was not straight forward. during the filming the cast and crew had to endure many different setbacks and problems due to the nature of the film. The majority of the film was unscripted and was off the cuff comedy and securing as many release form signatures as possible was the only way they could show others in the film with there consent. During the production they were stopped by police many times and after the film they had numerous law suits filed against them and have since had to pay some compensation to the village which was where Borat's home was supposedly.

Film 4

Film4 did not originally focus on broadcasting blockbusters, however nowadays broadcasts mainly mainstream Holywood product such as "Saw". The channel frequently has themed nights or seasons in which a number of films centred around one theme, director or actor are shown. As Channel 4 also owns a film production company, Film 4 productions, it shows many of its productions.

Occasional non-film (but film-related) programms are also shown.

Wherever possible, films are shown in their correct aspect ratio. No digital on screen graphics are superimposed. Under UK broadcasting rules, it was able to screen most films unedited and in earlier timeslots when it was a subscription channel, but these concessions were lost when it became free-to-air, and more adult material is now confined to after the 9pm watershed. In addition, the channel has come in for some criticism by the body in charge since becoming free-to-air for editing films to make them suitable for pre-9pm slots, rather than playing them unedited after this time.
